Bio/Description

Amanda Riccio is a Research Professional in the Jimah lab. She received her PhD from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA where she studied the structure and biochemical properties of DNA damage-dependent Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerases. Following her PhD, she moved to Montreal, Canada and then to Durham, North Carolina to complete her postdoctoral studies. In the laboratory of Bill Copeland, at the National Institute of Health/NIEHS, her postdoctoral studies focused on the elucidating the structure and assembly of the components within mitochondrial DNA replication machinery employing X-ray crystallography and single particle cryo-EM. In the Jimah Lab, she will be using Cryo-ET and other structural techniques to investigate membrane remodeling in parasites. In her free time, she enjoys yoga and spending time with her husband, children, and her dog.
